Australian MPs To Visit Dalai Lama In India
On 1 July 2009 a group of six Federal Parliamentarians will travel to Dharamsala, the Indian base of the Dalai Lama and the heart of the Tibetan community in exile. This is the first such visit by an Australian Parliamentary delegation. Ngodup Gyaltsen of the Canberra-based Tibet Information Office and Dr. Simon Bradshaw of the Australia Tibet Council will accompany the group. Read more …

ATC Uncovers Deception by Chinese Consulate in Melbourne
Melbourne Town Hall was hoodwinked into hosting a photo exhibition funded and organized by the Chinese Government. The exhibition, titled "Tibet's Past and Present", is a central component in China's initiative to shape international perceptions of the Tibetan situation. Next week, Sydney's UTS and Melbourne's RMIT will host events giving China's view of "Tibet Today". Read more …

Mine Dispute Largely Settled
Talks have resolved a standoff over a planned gold mine at Ser Ngul Lo mountain in Tibet. Security forces were withdrawn from the area after an agreement was reached between the Tibetan community and Chinese officials but questions remain regarding the disposal of poisonous waste at the site.
